Understanding your energy

Bring a positive vibe wherever you go.

Bringing a positive vibe to the table wherever you go is an essential practice in these times in which we live. I used to be the one with the “heavy” energy. I had to recognize that I was the one who was bringing it into the space I was in every time. With my daily practice of yoga and reiki healing, I learned to be aware of my energy.

I am often told now that I have great energy.

Unfortunately, bringing positive energy into whatever space I enter, can often be at the expense of my own energy resources. Affecting the energy of others in a positive way often leaves me feeling drained.

Finding the right “frequency fit” has been a challenge. Maintaining the right frequency demands a process of give and take. The energy exchange becomes like adjusting my sails to stay at a broad reach throughout the course of my day.

I think it is essential to find those people in your life that fuel you instead of draining you. Setting boundaries with those lower energies in your life is crucial.

A favorite quote of mine by the Buddha on happiness and joy:

“Happiness never decreases by being shared. It is the nature of things that joy arises in a person free from remorse. Set your heart on doing good. Do it over and over again. And you will be filled with joy.”

Be responsible for your energy.

It’s a wonderful quote by the Buddha, a perfect example of being responsible for your energy, and a great way to your energy focus on doing good.

What are we doing to each other when we aren’t focused on the goodness we bring? We are bringing down other’s joy and projecting our fears instead. It is so important to encourage one another in all that we do. When we support each other, it feels so good!

Yes, sometimes we fail, and that’s ok, that is the only way we learn what doesn’t work.

COMe BACK TO YOUR OWN ENERGY:
Try this simple practice.
  1. I want you to start by placing your right hand on your heart, and your left hand on your belly.

  2. Start to breathe in from the crown of your head and out through your hands.

  3. Start visualizing, and feel your life force flowing in through the crown and out the hands in a circular motion, going inward.

  4. Do this as long as it takes for you to feel the connection of your breath and body.

  5. Think of yourself as energy; maybe put a color to your breath.
Your consciousness is the observer of your energy, the observer of your experiences, the love, the pain, and the positivity that you bring.
